Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and organized Legal Assistant to join our team. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide vital support to our attorneys and help ensure the efficient operation of our legal practice. Responsibilities:
* Document Preparation: Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
* Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, schedule appointments, and handle inquiries.
* Research: Conduct legal research, gather relevant information, and prepare summaries for attorneys.
* Case Management: Organize and maintain legal files, calendars, and deadlines.
* Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with courts, agencies, and opposing counsel.
* Billing and Invoicing: Assist with billing and invoicing tasks, including tracking billable hours and expenses.
* Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, managing emails, and scheduling meetings.
* Legal Database Management: Maintain and update legal databases and records.
Qualifications:
* A bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is preferred but not required.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., case management systems).
* Knowledge of legal terminology and processes.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Prior experience in a law firm or legal setting is a plus.
